The AOK family is concerned about everyone: Producers, Instructors and Students. 

We would like to know that they are ok so that we can let others know they are ok.

If you will contact Ms. Edwards or Mr. Guimbellot by the AOK contact email, we will make sure your information is posted to this page as soon as possible.

Ms. Linda Denley is ok.  Her house is still without power and has water and wind damage.  Her school is open and she is ready for classes, but she asks that her students call the school first to make sure on class times and dates.

Mr. Fred Simon is ok.

From Barry Guimbellot and the "Southern Karate Championships"

Please let the Producers know if hurricane Ike left them with home, school or damage keeping them from their job I have a special offer for them.  Those Producers with damage, and their immediate families living in the same household, will be invited to compete in the Southern for free.  They may also bring up to 2 spectators for free.

This offer also goes for ANY adult black belt, producer or not, in that area that occurred the above damage.
The only thing I ask for this offer is that they pre-register for the Southern and in the 'Remarks' area of my online form they write a short detail of why they qualify for the entry.  If they mail in a registration form, they need to include another page explaining why they qualify.
Producers and Black Belts that qualify will be contacted immediately to let them know.
 
We understand this is not going to make everything ok again, but it is a way to say we care and maybe they can spend a day away from the memory and heartaches they are enduring at home.


 

Added, Wednesday, Sept. 24

Master Lee Ordonio-- NCMA had little water come in but we are back up and running, unfortunately the home of Master Lee and Ordonio family suffered over $80 thousand in damages.

 

Added, Thursday, Sept. 18

Mr. Jesse Benevidez is ok.  School suffered some damage.

Mr. Al Garza is ok.  School suffered some small damage.

Mr. Ishmael Robles is ok.  School suffered some damage.

Davidson family ok, with lots of water damage to home.

 

Added, Tuesday, Sept. 16

Ms. Linda Denley is ok, though without power and some minor damages.

Mr. Fred Simon is ok, property condition unknown.

Mr. & Ms. Donald Lawson are ok.  The hurricane went right over them, but they had no damage.

 

Here is the information we have as of 11:00 am, Monday, Sept. 15.

*My family and I are safe and I hope everyone is the same.  Unfortunately IKE has hit Galveston island and has damaged the San Luis Convention Center as well as many other businesses on the island.  I will keep you informed on Monday if San Luis will be available to host the Ocean Nationals.  Unfortunately I will not know anything until then.  Ocean Nationals will not be cancelled but may be postponed to a later date (possibly Oct 4th).  We are looking in the possibility to hosting the Ocean Nationals in Houston as an alternate venue.   Please check this site www.waynenguyen.com for we will inform everyone ASAP.

**Mr. DE Chambers lost some trees but otherwise ok.

 **Mr. Jesse and Ms. Cindy Benevidez-- Cindy's house is in Kemah and looks like they have some damage but the house is still there.  I think they had one on the stilts and everything below is gone but the house is still there.  Jesse mentioned that he has a little structural damage but will know more when they get back.
