We just received notice that Mr. Tommy Edwards, husband of Mrs. Nelda Edwards, passed away this afternoon (11/17/08).  We do not have any other details at this time.  Please keep checking back to this site for more information.  As soon as we know any details, we will post them here.

Our condolences and prayers go with the Edwards family.

Please be patient in getting the results in the East Region as Mrs. Edwards is the AOK Tabulator. As soon as we have the results, we will post them.

It is with great sadness we bring you this information about Mr. Jamal Hasan.  Mr. Hasan passed away in a swimming accident this last weekend.

Mr. Hasan was a fine young man and black belt that has been part of our AOK family for many years.  At this time, we do not have any more information than what you read here.  For more information, please contact Mr. or Mrs. Barry Benton or you may contact Ms. Nelda Edwards by using the AOK contact email on this web site.

9/22/08  The "Tournament of Champions" produced by Mr. Myron Burse has been relocated.  Please go to the AOK schedule page to download the newest flier and location information.

As you already know, the Texas/Louisiana coast was bashed by Hurricane Ike on Sept. 12-13th.  We wish all our martial arts family have all been spared losses and await hearing from them.

Mr. Wayne Nguyen sent the email below on Sept. 14th about his family and the Ocean Nationals, originally scheduled for Sept. 20th.

My family and I are safe and I hope everyone is the same.  Unfortunately IKE has hit Galveston island and has damaged the San Luis Convention Center as well as many other businesses on the island.  I will keep you informed on Monday if San Luis will be available to host the Ocean Nationals.  Unfortunately I will not know anything until then.  Ocean Nationals will not be cancelled but may be postponed to a later date (Sept 27 or Oct 4th).  We are looking in the possibility to hosting the Ocean Nationals in Houston as an alternate venue.   Please check this site www.waynenguyen.com for we will inform everyone ASAP.

The Big "D", originally scheduled for March 29th has now been changed to March 15.  Mr. Mason apologizes for any inconveniences this change could make.

The Karate State Championships 2008 promoted by Mr. Abel Villareal has a new location as of May 11, 2008.  The location on the next pages is the old location, do not go to the location on the flier that can be accessed on the tournament schedule.

The Sunset Open in Austin has been rescheduled to Aug. 23rd.  Mike and Sharon Hill apologize for any inconveniences this change could make.
